The rotor sits in the engines ignition housing and is fitted to the central shaft which originally carried the contact-breaker points operating cam and mechanical advance/retard unit. The rotor carries the magnets which trigger the pick-up coils on the stator plate, thus signalling the control box to enrgise the ignition coils. These rotors are all compatable with either Mk3, Mk4, Micro-digital or Micro-power Boyer Bransden electronic ignition systems. See Also |
