Gremlin's racing career commenced at Darley Moor Circuit, Easter 1977, on a 500cc BSA Goldstar.  Once the futility of chasing TZ Yamahas and Suzuki RG500's with this device, sank in (it only took three years!), the focus of racing was switched to VMCC events. 

In this photo, our intrepid hero is leading the Unlimited cc Final at Three sisters in 1981 on a 350cc Goldie.  Strangely enough, there was an extensive "up-ending" of man and machine a few corners later when the bottom frame rail lifted both wheels off the deck. Trying too hard, again............. 

Another constant which still remains today, is the helmet design. Every helmet ever owned since (and there has had to be a lot of replacements), has been painted in the same design.
