In an unusual moment of clarity, Gremlin decides that solos might be safer to race, than sidecars. This may be only marginally correct, but he went for it anyway.

The bike pictured here was to be used in many guises and raced in several different classes. The rolling chassis was from a Manx Norton, front forks were 40mm Rickman's, with Lockheed discs. The engines were eight valve Weslake twins and varied from 500cc to 850cc.

The bike was raced in Classic and Battle of the Twins, which was very popular from the mid to late eighties. With the 850cc motor fitted, she was damned quick and often beat modern Ducatis. However, handling was plain scary, as the chassis was completely overwhelmed by the power output and speed. Greatest glory was winning the first ever Battle of the Twins National road race in Ireland.
